From Gary: "Before the season is over I believe everybody will be impressed with what Brian Kelly does with Cincinnati. He knows how to get the most out of his kids."

Dan responds: Gary, I think you're absolutely right. I would put the Bearcats in the Top 25 right now, and Coach Kelly - only in his first year at UC - has done a fantastic job, positioning himself as one of the rising coaches in college football. The Bearcats have a tough road ahead (West Virginia, Louisville, Rutgers, South Florida), but Kelly could keep the Liberty Mutual Coach of the Year trophy in the Big East.

From Beasley: "Al Groh at Virginia has the Cavs off to a fast start. I'd like to see him get some consideration."

Dan responds: After an ugly Game 1 loss to Wyoming, Coach Groh has led the Cavaliers to two straight wins, over ACC rivals Duke and, most recently, at UNC. Coach Groh isn't in the Top 25 of the Liberty Mutual Coach of the Year standings, but with a win at home this weekend over Georgia Tech, he might begin to find some traction on ballots.
